Manifesting Miracles: Embrace the Unexpected Gifts of the Universe
Have you ever just been blindsided by the bubbly wisdom from a generous elder? I want to share a heartfelt story that perfectly encapsulates the magic of miraculous manifestation. This isn't just a tale of a vision being fulfilled; it's about the little, seemingly random events that can transform our lives when we open our hearts and minds to the universe's offerings.
A Garden Story: The Miracle of a Perfect Match
Every day for the past year, as I’d look out of my office window, my gaze landed on an unsightly spot in my yard where a tree once stood. It felt like an unresolved dirt canvas, a space waiting for something beautiful. I was at a loss for what to do with it, I planted a new baby dogwood that just never grew and remained barren and brittle. The view became a daily reminder of this unresolved dilemma. One of many!
One particularly hectic afternoon last week, I found myself fumbling with a parking lot payment app when I was approached by an friendly older woman. Despite my rush, something about her presence made me pause and engage in a brief conversation. She was looking for permission to take rocks from the excavation site in front of the building we were both parked next to. I had no idea if she could, but my nudge and wink was enough for her to go for it. I thought to myself, “This woman is living her best life. Going up to strangers and convincing herself through these conversations that she should be allowed to take rocks!” I laughed and appreciated how this woman didn’t care what people think of her and was committed to her mission. Moments later, still fumbling with this stupid app, facing away from the excavator because I knew myself and I knew if I made eye contact, I too would be helping her pick the best rocks along with the building maintenance worker. I had plans! People were expecting me! And I didn’t want to be late for my meeting by potentially getting pulled into the rock saga. However, my attempt to be too busy to get noticed was like an invitation for the moth to be warmed by the flame. The universe had a different plan for my schedule. The woman ran up to me with an insistent invitation: "Come with me!" she urged. “The guy said yes! And I found one for you!” She grabbed my hand and off we ran like two giddy kids who just got permission to play outside. I was now jumping into a hole and digging small boulders with my hands in a summer dress. I climbed out, dirty, sweaty and with an abundance of millions of years old rocks that haven’t seen the light of day for centuries. My son happened to be walking back from school and just knew from my face that I’d be a while, so he opened the trunk and laid down some grocery bags for my rock haul, without me even having to share what was happening. It was if, he was in on it too!
She described how these rocks could transform a space, and her vision perfectly matched the needs of my yard. “Do you have an empty spot that gets sun?” She asked. I went on to say how I’ve been really thinking about what to do with my front yard and we both laughed and she said, “then we were meant to meet!” She told me why the tree I bought to replace the one that died wasn’t flourishing. She said, when a tree is removed, even if you bring up the roots, the soil needs time to settle down, decompose what’s left and make itself ready for new life to grow. It can take up to three years. Something’s, you just can’t rush. Nature is on its own timeline, just like each of us, you just need to adjust and learn what the land needs to heal and grow. It will tell you if you observe it.”
This lady, a stranger moments before, turned out to have extensive gardening knowledge. Not only did she help me solve my yard dilemma, but she also offered guidance on enhancing the entire area with her expert tips. “Place the rock in the center and plant marigolds around it.” We exchanged numbers and she sent me photos of ideas, encouragement and more words of wisdom. I tried my best to express just how grateful and fortunate I felt to have been bombarded with her joy and zest for life, but for her, this was just another Monday. That energy, that pure unbothered spirit, is available to all of us if we seek out opportunities for connection, creativity and seize the moment!
I realized later as I was thinking about this interaction that, in fact, I had played the role of “crazy lady” in Bali! When there I had myself been in a parking lot digging through not a construction site but a pile of burned trash. When in that trash I found an old piece of ornamental clay chimney, I joyfully found and asked an attendant if I was allowed to take it home and showed other travelers where they could find a piece too. Ha! Perhaps this interaction present day with this woman, helped me reconnect with my joyful spirit. When I was disconnected and more focused on the day to day responsibilities and tasks of the workweek, a little reminder of who I am, who we all are when we seek joy!
This experience was a beautiful reminder that the universe knows our needs even before we do. By allowing ourselves to be open and receptive, we align with the miraculous ways life can provide exactly what we need, sometimes through the most unexpected encounters. To be honest, the rocks are awesome, but the real treasure for me was the woman’s spontaneity and persistence. We can be the giver of the universe’s gifts to others and we can also be the recipient. How magnificent of a dance!
I had the honor of creating and teaching a lesson on manifestation at this month's soul school circle. I want to share with you some of what we worked on.
Embrace the Power of Miraculous Manifestation
Manifesting our desires isn't merely about positive thinking; it's about aligning our deepest wishes with the universe's generosity. Trusting the universe's plan and releasing doubts opens us up to life's blessings in the most surprising ways.
The 80/20 Rule of Manifestation
The 80/20 rule suggests that 80% of our success in manifesting comes from our mindset, and only 20% from our actions. By shifting our focus from actions to beliefs, we can harness the true power of manifestation.
The Power of Dreaming Again
Reconnecting with our soul’s desires and affirming that we deserve to dream and enjoy life daily taps into our true passions and aspirations. Manifesting with our soul means embodying our desires as if they're already realized, aligning our energy with our goals.
Cultivating a Positive Mindset
An empowering mindset is crucial for manifestation. By using affirmations, shifting limiting beliefs, and maintaining positivity, we can clarify and set our intentions with lightness and fun.
Taking Inspired Action
Inspired action bridges the gap between intention and reality. Driven by intuition, these actions create momentum. By identifying small, exciting steps and visualizing our desires daily, we can move closer to our goals.
Trust and Surrender
Trusting the universe and letting go of control is essential. Surrendering doesn't mean giving up; it means being open to unexpected opportunities. Reinforcing our trust with a prayer or mantra and practicing daily meditation helps us embrace the flow of life.
Key Points to Remember
Validate your beliefs.
Attainment comes from the soul, not ego-driven force.
Freedom comes from giving freely.
Understanding brain functions reduces suffering.
Adversity strengthens us.
Training our imagination responsibly is crucial.
