From Trauma to Triumph

Tuesday, December 3rd at 7-8:30pm, Zoom, $25

Trauma doesn’t just live in our past; it reshapes our present and influences how we see the world, interact with others, and respond to life’s challenges. When we experience trauma, our brains and nervous systems adapt to survive, often leaving us stuck in patterns of fear, hyper-vigilance, or avoidance. These adaptations can affect our perceptions, projections, and behaviors, influencing how we see ourselves, others, and our possibilities.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn in this workshop:

The Science of Trauma: We’ll explore how trauma impacts brain structures like the amygdala (our fear center), the hippocampus (which processes memory), and the prefrontal cortex (responsible for rational thought). You’ll understand why you might feel “stuck” in certain emotional or behavioral patterns.

The Nervous System’s Role: Learn how the fight, flight, or freeze response becomes “wired in” after trauma and how this affects everything from emotional regulation to physical health.

Subconscious Patterns: Trauma often creates subconscious filters that shape our perceptions (how we interpret the world) and projections (what we assume about others), which can lead to self-sabotaging behaviors or relationship struggles.

Most importantly, we’ll discuss pathways to healing:

Bringing Patterns to Consciousness: By identifying and understanding these automatic responses, we can begin to choose new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

Post-Traumatic Growth: Discover tools and practices that help transform pain into purpose, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and emotional freedom.

Grounding Practices: Learn simple yet powerful techniques to reconnect with your body and feel safe in the present moment, even when facing emotional triggers.

Beyond Perceptions and Our Power to Discern

Tuesday, January 7th at 7-8:30pm, Zoom, $25
Our perceptions shape the way we see the world, but they’re not always the full truth. Often, they’re filtered through personal experiences, cultural conditioning, and subconscious patterns, creating assumptions and reactions that may no longer serve us. In Beyond Perceptions and Our Power to Discern, we’ll explore how to go beyond surface-level interpretations and tap into our innate ability to discern with clarity, compassion, and integrity.

This workshop is designed for those curious to understand how their inner narratives influence their external reality and learn practical tools for creating more conscious, intentional connections with themselves and others.

Topics Discussed:

The Nature of Perception

How perceptions are formed and why they often differ from person to person.

The role of past experiences, societal norms, and biases in shaping perception.

Examples of how perception can distort reality, leading to miscommunication or internal conflict.

The Subconscious Role of Projections

What projection is and how it shows up in relationships and decision-making.

Techniques to recognize when you’re projecting your fears, desires, or beliefs onto others.

Tools for pausing and questioning your assumptions before they solidify into judgments.
